I see that this topic has been brought up a lot. I have spent time looking for wise words and solutions, but to no avail. I am resorting to posting this here out of sheer desperation.

I upgraded to Brazil 3.0 for rhinogold. It came with all kinds of new materials which is great. BUT

1) I have spent hours fiddling with the lumar properties etc. I have read and tweaked and tried again. I have spent many hours at my own expense trying to get a decnt rendering to generate. And yes you guessed it:

2) My issue is with white gold. So reflective that it appears that it is transparent. Or:

3) I try to use the newer metals and they either render pitch black, or the render as matte objects with ZERO reflectivity.

Please can someone point me to the nearest tall bridge over rocks, or perhaps a tutorial. Maybe a wise word or two?

Thank in advance.

Hi Paul,

I think the best way to answer your question in with a real case. Please may you create any file reproducing the problem and publish it here and we discuss point per point how improve it. What do you think?

Rafa

Thanks Rafa. I am sure that there is a simple solution. I just can't seem to find it.

I have uploaded 4 pictures which are captioned to explain what I have done in each. Please let me know if there is something else specifically that you would like to see.

Thanks in advance for helping me.
