Help anybody. Thanks

I was wondering if anybody can give some tips on tackling this ring.  I know it is rather simple but I am not completely happy with my technique.  I cant stop feeling that this is a simple ring to model and I am just going about it the hard way.  I first draw my curves flat on top view port.  Then extrude, then cage edit.  and then I flow along curve.  I think you guys get the picure.  Thanks before hand.

Is this the ring you made or you want to copy?
if you show more side view to take better idea how it looks like.
