Hello
okay here is my problem I bought this machine secondhand got a really good price for it , made the guy test it in front of me so i know it works, the problem is the software ?????
.
I have no freaking idea what is going on here i got three discs from the guy, roland software package 2.6d yellow disc ,modela player4 ver 1.8a black disc and roland digital vices I assume a backup
.
okay so the first disc i can install 3d engrave and dr. engrave but the window installer doesn't install .
The second disc wont install at all. The third disc installs but i have no idea how to get rhino gold to use it ? the vices are made by rolnad for the jwx-10 to turn it into a 5 axis machine
.
if any of you guy use this machine and know what to do or can just give me so hints in the right direction i would really appreciate it i use windows 7 64-bit i believe
.

you will have to get the 64 bit installer for 3d engrave to work
Permalink Reply by Mikko on January 17, 2012 at 9:24pm Get latest programs and drivers from Roland web page. There is no reason to install old software. http://www.rolanddg.com/
By the way, good luck with you JWX-10.. you will need it..

Permalink Reply by Mike Tarbuck on January 23, 2012 at 4:56am Did you run the tool sensor to establish it setting. I have a JWX10. The BEST thing you can do for yourself is get Machine Wizard. www.protowizard.com. It make using the JWX10 very easy. Might also look into Protowizard and the fixtures as Pat suggested. Also if it has the original Rotary, these have a lot of backlash in them. Which make it hard to produce a good wax. Don (Protowizard) has a much better rotary. He sale a complete package very reasonable.
When I cut a wax in the rotary, I always lower my Z by .30mm. Even with Machine wizard and all.

Permalink Reply by pat schmidt on January 23, 2012 at 9:53am I 've never had any problems with backlash on the rotary I think it was just something to 'talk' about from the early days when everyone was trying to figure out why they wern't getting the waxes they were looking for I woulnd't worry about going out and buying a new rotary untill you know your mill better, I never lower my bit but I did spend alot of time dialing in my mill from left to right ,forward and back and the one no one does 'across' the front left to right ...I made an adaptor so I can mount a four jaw chuck for my clamping fixture on the rotary so I can't use the automatic adjustment that is built into machine wizard but I do have an early version of it and do use it to adjust the speeds while I mill (mostly if I want to go faster) but I do recomend getting protowizard and some of the fixtures (some of the fixtures are limited for me so that's why I made my own) the only fixtures I use are the wax tube holder and the ring holding fixture with the hub ..but you will need at least three fixtures...tube holder, ring fixture with hub, and flat wax clamp if you have the money go for the machine wizard
