Permalink Reply by pat schmidt on February 22, 2012 at 2:57pm most chains are either hand made or made with a chain making machine or you could make one element and make a rubber mold and cast the pieces then assemble.... a good book on chain making can be helpful for learning how go make hand made chains
I have milled an element of a chain just like pat said. Then you make a mold and pump them out. Milling all the elements takes alot of time. another thing I did the other day and I was very happy with the outcome was to get a bracelette with a similar design. It does not have to be gold I used a silver one that would give me the weight I needed in gold. You can even try and look for some costume jewelry. Now adays they have everything. Once you find the element you make a mold of that and pump out as many as you need and you have a sure fit with no twisting works excellent.
