hello everyone,
I developed this ring with flow by surfaces. The result is fine for me but the ring is full of naked edges, what did i do wrong?
Like to here your feedback.

Permalink Reply by pat schmidt on February 6, 2012 at 12:58pm than the problem is in how you made your design try remaking them using two curves (inside edge and outside edge ) and extrude them = no naked edges
Permalink Reply by Francisco Rosende on February 6, 2012 at 1:18pm Hi Johan,
In your pic I see that you has all edges selected and no only naked edges...
You must select only naked edges for checking
Permalink Reply by pat schmidt on February 6, 2012 at 1:21pm good observation! I missed that...
Permalink Reply by Johan Kegels on February 6, 2012 at 1:44pm Thanks guys for your time,
When i built this design, i made each leaf seperately with two curves, then joined them, offset en then extrude. So i don't understand how i have got those naked edges? Or is this the wrong method.

You must change the window naked edges, so you only see the naked, now you have it displayed all edges, and may have no naked edges.I send you where you change the selection
Regards

Permalink Reply by Francisco Rosende on February 7, 2012 at 11:05am I am not sure but I think your curves are made in the red layer and that is what you see, the command line still says "select objects with naked edges" and "select at least 1 objects".
Anyway if you want to upload the file and I'll check to see that fails in the model.

I checked my design again and you were right, the red color was from my red layer! Thanks for your time!
Johan
Another way I check to make sure my polysurfaces are solid is to do an analize I click on analize then on mass properties and then I click on volume. It will also tell you if you have naked edges there. Then you can go to surface tools and use join naked edges command to fix anything needed.
