Is this the printer so many of us have been waiting for ? At only $6,990 it's certainly within the budgets of more people.

Permalink Reply by Dmitri on December 6, 2011 at 5:56am Unfortunately, this printer is not jewelry business. Low resolution and low quality! Very soon price for this kind of printer will be $1,000 - 1,500. Don't don't waste $6,990 now.
Permalink Reply by pat schmidt on December 6, 2011 at 4:54pm looks interesting..the rings in the pictures look pretty good along with the dental stuff but it's always better to see a piece in person first and also find out how long it takes to 'build' a ring
Permalink Reply by Julian Chatt on December 23, 2011 at 12:17pm New website now working with more details about this printer.
I am prepared to accept that the quality of my work may not be the best but personally I'd be happy with their accuracy of
X & Y 37.5 to 50 microns and in the Z axis 1 micron !
I have my money set aside to buy one as soon as they are available. I don't see it as a replacement for my Roland mills, more of a compliment to them. A lot of my more intricate designs need a lot of hand finishing when they come off the mill to hollow out the backs and remove wax the mill just can't get to. To 'print' only those pieces would save me so much time and fully justify the investment
I'll report back when I have one. If it proves to be an unwise investment I will be the first to stand up and admit I wasted my money. Meanwhile, look at their website, read the info and dream......
Permalink Reply by Julian Chatt on December 23, 2011 at 2:32pm They say approximately 4 hours for rings, with up to 8 rings stacked together on a build plate. Better than overnight like many other printers.

Permalink Reply by pat schmidt on December 23, 2011 at 10:59pm I'm sure it is ....I'm just wondering on the cost to make a ring if the juice is $350 a bottle
Permalink Reply by Julian Chatt on December 23, 2011 at 10:59pm Yes. I'm trying to calculate how much resin is in a refill bottle and then I can work out the price of a finished piece. I'll try I do it in $'s per cubic centimetre.

Permalink Reply by Tariq Abdul Rauf on December 23, 2011 at 11:05pm This toy realy deserve a try it is not expensive, the rings not bad and the teeth are looking prety smooth
Permalink Reply by pat schmidt on December 23, 2011 at 11:06pm yes but do you have to make the base plate in the plastic everytime also..that could use up alot of the juice
Permalink Reply by pat schmidt on December 23, 2011 at 11:08pm looks good it's just the operating expence (the juice) that could be the real killer!
