Raster to Vector Bug Fixed

Hello,

 

We detect some problems in Raster to Vector command. This problem is becuase by security Windows doesn't allow to register a DLL in your computer. It is very easy to fix.

 

Please follow these steps:

1. Unzip the attached file and copy files within the attached file in C:\Windows\System32

2. Click on Start and type CMD:

3. Type Regsvr32 c:\Windows\System32\Vecom.dll


Your computer will show you this messagebox. 

It will be fixed in the next release.

After replying to a previous post about the error, I have downloaded the file and tried this patch, and it will load the jpeg now, yet when i press the button draw or preview, I get the following message: An unexpected error occured: External Component has thrown an exception"

You must be at the C:\ prompt to apply the patch.  If you get your C:\user\name  command prompt get to the C:\ to run patch.

Thanks, this fix worked for me. I placed the DLLs into RhinoGold directory instead of c:\windows, so that I don't lose them somehow.

Hello

 

If you have any problems registering vecom.dll file, you'll have to change "User Account Settings" to do that follow this steps:

 

1.- Open Control Panel --> Change view mode to "Large icons" --> Click on "User Accounts"

 

2.- Now click on "Change User Account Control settings".

 

3.- Drag the slider to bottom and click "OK".

 

You will have to restart the pc for the changes to take effect, after that you'll be able to register vecom.dll like Rafa explains in the first post.

Hello again.

This post is for people using Windows VISTA and having problem With Registering vecom.dll. 

Please follow this Steps:

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Under User Account and Family settings click on the "Add or remove user account".
    Add or remove user account
  3. Click on one of the user accounts, for example you can use the Guest account.
  4. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.
    Go to the Main User Accounts Page
  5. Under "Make changes to your user account" click on the "Change security settings" link.
    Change security settings
  6. In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.
    Turn on AUC
  7. You will be prompted to reboot your computer. Do so when ready.
    Disable UAC - Reboot


You will have to restart the pc for the changes to take effect, after that you'll be able to register vecom.dll like Rafa explains in the first post.

Hi all

Rhinogold is still very new to me, only been playing around with it for 3 weeks. However, was very disappointed to find the raster to vector bug. 

i've looked at the 'help' suggestions in this discussion and it's all Greek, doesn't mean a thing.( open this file? which file, where will I find this file...! sorry..but have No idea what you are on about.

Help...please, any very simple step by step advice. It might all seem obvious, so please forgive my ignorance.

step 1...switch computer on

step 2...open rhinogold

step 3....?????????????????

Really, it has to be that basic for me to understand

how did every step that you explain in this forum to make the rastor vecton working but it,s doesn't function. When I finish the process described by you.

apears the menssage like that . impossible shows the especific ways.

Rafael fixed it for me via remote access, however the bug should be fixed now in the new service release
