All the problem is in your base surface looks like you cut it out from a bigger surface, when I turened on the control points it is showing the points in aeria larger then the surface, so better to make the surface from the curve created by UV using…

I tried it, when I aply your object and base surface it comes short, the one I created I mean the base surface it is coming perfect with your object, I didn't check yet why will try to find out.

The base surface must be created using Create UV Curves tool from the targeted surface then you convert this curve to surface using the Surface From Planar Curves to get the base surface, try to do this if you did it other way. If still the short…
