did you include the file? ..also how are you going to make wax .. looks like a growing job,   (possible cast with stones in place?) or you'd have to make each element in wax, then assemble, cast and sell or let your friend worry…

pat schmidt replied to Eileen's discussion 'Milling chain created with rhino gold'
most chains are either hand made or made with a chain making machine or you could make one element and make a rubber mold and cast the pieces then assemble.... a good book on chain making can be helpful for learning how go make hand made chains

It's true you need to know how jewelry is made, but as a jewelry designer/fabricator with own store/workplace i must say when you go blank into a design session (I mean without the knowledge of how to produce jewelry) you can come across…

david  you might want to use rail revole to make the shank..you did a sweep using both profile curves try only using one curve and you won't have to do double steps on your wire cuts...on the example the colored base was made using…

Pat,

When I machine a simple letter such as an S in Script MT Bold 2mm thick 10mm high it comes out a little rough. When I get the letter cast I need to do a lot of work cleaning the sides of the letter. I tried working with the "curvature graph on" like in your video but it didn't make much difference no matter what I did. I use a pyramid or long pointy tool to machine with. Any ideas on improving the performance?

Thanks Pat,
I found a few of your older ones on Youtube, nothing with your name search but just thru Rhino search. I appreciate those and everything you've contributed in the past...keep Rafe on his toes you might say. Later,Chuck
